I'm rewatching season 1 right now. I forgot how much I love New Amsterdam.

Most of Season 1 blurs in my mind. Not an insult, but the only episodes I vividly remember are Nixon vs. Kennedy, and The Wheel.

Same here actually. But that's true of most TV for me after I've had some distance from it.

I took a really long break after the first 2 seasons, so then I got to marathon through 3-4 and watch 5 this year.
I truly enjoyed the subtleties and slow development of the first 3 seasons very much and I think the reputation of the show is based mostly on them. However, I'm also very pleased how the pace of the show is mirroring the social changes of the time.

Well, Mad Men is especially susceptible to this because of its structure and emphasis on characterization/character development over plot momentum.

The only times I can really remember what is in an episode is if it's a finale, or it's an episode where Real Life intrudes on the action (The One Where Kennedy Gets Shot, for example).

Oh, and "Guy Walks into an Advertising Agency".
