I watched "The Vampires of Venice" today. I have to say the only saving grace of the episode was the fact it was my first episode on Blu-ray, so Karen Gillan was lookin' real nice, and all of the scenes with Rory were pretty decent. Other than that, the episode was pretty silly, and not in a good Doctor Who way.

So do you like Doctor Who because I always thought you didn't?

Do you buy blu-rays for television shows you don't really like?

This thread is going to do wonders in giving me carpal tunnel.

I found Vampires in Venice fairly enjoyable, especially since we really get our first extended insight into Rory's character. It's a silly alien, and resolved a bit too quickly, but I enjoyed it for the emotional stuff of discovering how Amy (or at least, Early Amy, before her character was arbitrarily changed) and Rory interacted.

I'm also just infinitely amused by the idea of taking a duckface pic in a 1600s Venice sidestreet.

Oh, I quite liked Vampires of Venice. Yes, it was campy and not all that good, but it was worth it for the scene of The Doctor excitedly working out who/what the vampires were.

I like Doctor Who (remember Narwhal, you're the one who doesn't even like "Blink"). I'll admit that I'm just very picky when it comes to what I like about it.

As far as buying it on Blu-ray. I got seasons 5 and 6 on Blu-ray for a total of ten dollars, which is a price I would be willing to pay for this show, so I bought them the other day. That's pretty much 5$ for a season of the show on Blu-ray, when they're normally 75$.

I watched "Amy's Choice" for the first time last night, and it was the opposite of "The Vampires of Venice," in that it was everything I love about Doctor Who.

Engaging in a very smart and fun structure, it was great to see Rory and Amy literally face a possible future for the two of them, even if
    Spoiler:
Rory is developed further, and I loved the Dream Lord's instigation of doubts in Rory's mind about who Amy's allegiance lies with. This is easily my favorite Matt Smith episode so far, and it'll be hard to top.
